Specialised Services

CWIT is equipped to handle Ultra Large Container Vessels, significantly enhancing the capacity and efficiency of cargo handling at the Port of Colombo. As an international terminal in Sri Lanka, we undertake vessels that require specialised services for their operations.

    Out-of-Gauge Cargo Handling

Out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo often includes oversized items such as heavy machinery, and construction equipment. To accommodate these items, we utilise specific container types each designed for unique loading and transport needs.

Dangerous Goods and Reefer Container Handling

Dangerous Goods (DG) containers are managed with safe stowage practices on vessels. Reefer containers are monitored to maintain appropriate temperatures and ventilation through a continuous power supply which ensures the quality of perishable goods.

    Shore Power Supply

Once Fully Commissioned, we will implement shore power supply systems to provide vessels with electrical power while docked, minimising the need for onboard generators therefore significantly reducing emissions. This system especially enables the reefer containers to connect directly to the port's electrical grid, ensuring consistent temperature control for perishable goods without fuel consumption.
